Because in France, we realized too late that the police and the armed forces were unprepared, so much so that they unwittingly became the first propagators of the Coronavirus. But which military leaders and epidemiologists had the good idea to constitute a Covid-19 infection cluster in France to study it at leisure? It is assumed today that this highly volatile and contagious virus has escaped from a high-security P4 laboratory in China, and our soldiers have therefore ingenuously accompanied and surrounded the patients to holiday resorts in France, in small outfits when total containment was needed! Then there was the case of the crew of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle departing on a mission with a healthy carrier and who return urgently to good port with 1046 contaminated sailors. Fortunately for them, tests are reserved for these cases and only 2 sailors are in intensive care. They would be infinitely less likely to survive in one of our retirement homes...
There are two considerations:
First, our government has lost the war of prevention. Because while "barrier measures" cost almost nothing to prescribe, the price of a national advertising campaign, "proximity measures" such as wearing a mask and gloves have been highly discredited. The problem is that the whole economic life of the French people goes against confinement at home and social distancing on the streets and at work. Secondly, the masks today are given in priority to the nursing staff and not to the populations as it should be, the screening tests were not done in time for the elderly who continue to die by the thousands in nursing homes and respirators have been largely refused to people over the age of 75, even though some old people have escaped. Finally, several thousand respirators manufactured in a hurry by PSA are unusable. Failure across the board! In fact, masks and tests should have been offered at the start of the Coronavirus epidemic to families, where the virus spread, to separate sick people from the healthy and for example in Crépy-en-Valois or in the Contamines-Montjoie ski resort (Haute-Savoie), the very first French infectious outbreaks.
But technocratic and military strategists convinced Admiral Macron to the contrary. The government is trying to make a first mask release and authorize pharmacies to sell them. Tobacco merchants want their share of this market , but how do you smoke a cigarette and wear a mask at the same time? Regardless, like the soldiers, they can kill one day and save lives the next.
In fact, Macron and his generals seem to want to anticipate a catastrophic scenario, just like Donald Trump does: in the event of an extremely complicated situation, they will immediately provide (within two or three months, of course) surgical masks and sufficient testing not only for medical personnel, but also for the police and the military. This is why, in this hypothesis of a popular uprising or a civil semi-war from the suburbs (without having vaccines), the various protections and tests finally available must not be wasted prematurely and the populations risk will continue to self-immunize alone as they learned to do in March and April, at the cost of a few tens of thousands more deaths.
As Chief of the Armies, President Macron will therefore remain perfectly coherent and "straight in his boots"! Yes, you can die anytime: it will be enough for workers and foremen to survive this slaughter to revive a "post-war" economy. Understand, no one is imprescindible to this project.
